The terms laid out in Our privacy notice below only relate to services provided by Iris Insurance Brokers Limited through its Blink Intermediary Solutions Division and does not include any activities of Iris Insurance Brokers Limited as placing or producing broker whose privacy notice can be found at www.irisib.com

WHAT DO BLINK INTERMEDIARY SOLUTIONS OFFER?

At Blink Intermediary Solutions (Blink), We connect UK Insurance Brokers to Insurance products and capacity solutions, some of which are unique and exclusive to Us.

We work with a variety of Product Providers including Insurers, MGA’s, wholesale brokers and specialist suppliers, providing access to a wide range of personal and commercial insurance products and capacity solutions. 

There are no fees or commitments on Our part for a broker to access the standard products We distribute. We have entered into agreements and earn a share of the Product Providers brokerage to distribute their products and services to brokers throughout the UK.  

When Blink Intermediary Solutions makes a connection the Insurance Broker and the Product Provider enter into a direct trading relationship.

WHO IS THE DATA CONTROLLER AT BLINK INTERMEDIARY SOLUTIONS?

The data controller for your personal data is Iris Insurance Brokers Limited (Our/Us/We) who can be contacted in relation to your personal data by email to compliance@irisib.com or post at Iris Insurance Brokers, The Baxter Building, 80 Baxter Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, UK, SS2 6HZ.  

WHO IS THE DATA PROTECTION OFFICER AT BLINK INTERMEDIARY SOLUTIONS?

The data protection officer is the Iris Insurance Brokers Compliance Officer.

YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:

  • To effect business connections to insurers and other providers of general insurance products and associated services whom We have entered into an agreement with.
  • To carry out Our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and Us.
  • To notify you about changes to Our service.

THE CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA WE HOLD ARE:

  • Your business contact information (i.e. full name, job role and employee business contact details) which may have been obtained either directly from yourself, your employer or from a Product Provider who your employer has a live agency with and whom We have a business relationship with to provide distribution services.
  • We also collect and store non-personal information.
  • We may also collect, use and store sensitive personal information such as criminal convictions for the purposes of insurance agency applications. Where this is required, you consent to this processing to enable Us to provide you with the relevant services. You may withdraw your consent at any time. However, We will not request or store certain sensitive personal data such as your ethnicity, sexual orientation etc.

OUR LEGAL BASIS FOR THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS:

We have a legitimate interest to process your data due to the following reasons:

  1. A direct business relationship exists between Blink Intermediary Solutions and the company for which you work. If you require further information relating to this please contact Us or your employer.
  2. We have entered into agreements and earn a share of the brokerage from a number of Product Providers to distribute their suite of products and/or services to UK Insurance Brokers. The company for which you work with has a direct business relationship with one or more of those Product Providers. Please contact Us for details of the Product Providers We have such agreements with.

INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU:

We may collect and process the following data about you, which will be both personal and non-personal information:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on Our site www.blinkis.co.uk or paper forms offline. This includes information provided by you and or your employer at the time of registering to use Our site, subscribing to Our service or requesting further services.
  • We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with Our site.
  • If you contact Us, We may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that We use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • Details of your visits to Our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs, operating system, browser usage and other communication data. See Our Cookie section in this notice.

WE MAY SHARE YOUR BUSINESS CONTACT DATA WITH:

  • Product Providers and Prospective Product Providers whose products We distribute that may be of interest to the company whom you are employed by.
  • Service providers who are contracted with Us to provide services such as maintaining Our computer systems and helping Us with external communications. These companies are obligated to protect your personal information and We undertake appropriate due diligence.
  • In the event that We sell or buy any business or assets, We may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets - you would be advised at the appropriate stage in a durable medium.
  • If We are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, Our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

RETENTION PERIODS

  • Your personal data will be retained for the duration of the time in which your company continues to have a business relationship with Us and for a period of 7 years after the business relationship ceases in order that We can keep appropriate business records.

WE MAY OBTAIN SOME OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FROM THE FOLLOWING SOURCES:

  • Product Providers and Prospective Product Providers whom We distribute their products.
  • Your Employers.
  • You yourself.

YOUR RIGHTS

 The right to be informed

You have the right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data. Our Privacy Notice lays out how We will use your personal contact information.

The right of access

You have the right to obtain:

  • Confirmation that your data is being processed;
  • Access to your personal data; and
  • Other supplementary information – this largely corresponds to the information that should be provided in a privacy notice

You have the right to have inaccurate personal data rectified or completed if it is incomplete.  If We have disclosed your personal data which has to be rectified to third parties We will inform them of the rectification where possible.

If you would like your business contact information to be removed from Our records, please contact Us using the details below. Please be aware We can only remove your information from Our systems once Our regulatory requirements have been fulfilled.

If We are unable to remove your records due to data retention periods, We will, of course, advise you.

The right to restrict processing
